The Big Picture

My understanding of disease as a catalyst for change has deepened due to my own experience as a cancer survivor. I am open to sharing my gifts, insights and breadth of experience as I’ve witnessed firsthand the opportunity to go within and find healing.

My journey with cancer started long ago when my mother died of breast cancer. She was 48. I was 15. I was proud of my mother’s selflessness and wanted to be like her, and I did end up like her. I developed breast cancer at age 46.

After starting with allopathic cancer treatment (surgery and chemo), I progressed to complimentary treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, homeopathic, nutrition, energy work, etc. I knew I needed to focus on myself in order to heal.

Inside, I knew the cancer was here to teach me something, yet I didn’t know what it was. Initially, I focused on physical healing, knowing the entire time that the real healing involved my emotions and beliefs. It took years before the “light went on." I realized some of the very things I was trying to emulate were, in fact, the catalyst for "dis-ease."

As a result of my experiences, I knew my place was in the healing field, many of my previous experiences and efforts applied to my life path as a healer. "Dis-ease" can be a transformative agent which helps get us back on track in our lives, if we are open to seeing the lesson — the gift that guides us back to our center.
